SHRI BAGESHWAR DHAM MEDICAL SCIENCES AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE is project that is being set up under Shri Bageshwardham Sarkar Foundation.
The project is under the patronage of Shri Dhirender Krishna Shastri. The foundation stone for the project was laid by the Hon’ble Prime Minsiter of India Shri Narender Modiji on 23rd Februrary 2025.
The project aims at providing affordable cancer treatment for the poor and destute, especially the tribals. These are the people who are otherwise neglected by society or are unable to bear costs associated with treatment of these diseases. The primary focus of the project is to diagnose and treat all forms of cancer while also addressing other medical requirements like Opthomology, General healthcare, Orthopaedic, Haematology etc. The ultimate aim is to develop this into a state of the art research centre addressing various other ailments like Sickle Cell Anamea and to make a medical college.
The Foundation has tied up with renouned APOLLO HOSPITALS GROUP to help build and subsequently run the hospital.
100 Bed Hospital and Nursing College
Half of the Medical Institute will be dedicated to Cancer diagnosis and treatment, while the other half will be for General Medical Services including Emergency and Outpatient Services.
A Nursing College will also be build as part of Phase 1.
The Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narender Modiji has committed to the masses that he would return and inaugurate the facility once built and has indicated a Q4 2027 time line for the same.
Expansion to 400 beds
The aim during this phase is to ensure the Hospital reaches a capacity of 400 beds.
This phase is expected to start soon after the commencement of the hospital.
Adequate land for this expansion plan has already been procured under Phase 1
Eye Centre
In the next phase work will be done on introducing a state of the art clinic for Opthomology.
While primary focus would be on vision correction the centre would also be adept to treat eye diseases as well as conduct eye surgery
Research Centre & Medical College
The final step would be to build a research centre with a dedicated annual budget for finding cures to diseases plaguing the tribals.
A medical college will also be built in the vicinity of the Hospital with appropriate boarding arrangements for the students.
